Unistroy selected as the contractor for an innovative building in the capital
The well-established company with high standards, “Unistroy,” has been chosen as the main contractor for a new modern project in the capital. The original building will be erected in the “Lozenets” neighborhood. Construction began on July 1 this year, with a completion deadline set for September 2018.
The building will have an exceptionally attractive exterior. In addition to incorporating the latest innovations in construction, it will feature a prominent motif from Bulgarian embroidery—the cross symbol “Elbetitsa.” This symbol has long adorned Bulgarian needlework. Besides being featured on the glass façade, this native mystery will also appear on the fences surrounding the property.
However, the “Elbetitsa” is not the only unique design element chosen for this one-of-a-kind building. The entire interior space, starting from the ground level, is organized around a central live tree. Around this tree is a spiral staircase spanning all ten levels of the building—two underground, the ground floor, and seven floors above. A glass dome on the roof will provide ample natural light.
The building is not only attractive but also smart. Special air pockets will be created between the curved walls and the beautiful suspended glass partition. The circulation of air will contribute to natural climate control throughout the seasons. This is one of the principles embedded in the passive house concept.
The total gross floor area (GFA) of the residence will be 8,370 square meters, of which 2,827 square meters are designated for the two underground levels. In line with the latest trends, a multifunctional parking area will be built for 26 cars (at -6.25 level) and an additional 12 cars (at -3.35 level). From here, all floors are accessible via two elevators and the central spiral staircase. A hair salon, gym, swimming pool, and cinema are also among the hidden amenities reserved for future residents and guests.
The main entrance to the building, with its original architecture, leads visitors into a foyer of over 220 square meters with a height of 6.18 meters. In addition to office spaces, this level will feature a conference hall with 75 seats. The next floor is also reserved for workspaces and a multifunctional hall. Above these are six residential floors. In total, there will be 26 apartments, including studios and one-, two-, and three-bedroom units.
The “Elbetitsa” building is a significant project entrusted to a renowned professional, “Unistroy” AD, who has proven itself over time through numerous projects. Quality in every detail of execution is implied—it has become both a tradition and a hallmark of the construction company.
